Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born March 4, 1954), is a Canadian-American actor and comedian. O'Hara has won numerous awards that include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) and two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara first became known as an actress in 1974 while she was a part of The Second City in Toronto. Along with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the principal casting for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). In the following year, O'Hara and Candy began work in the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984), where she drew praise from critics for her performance as a comedic actress as well as a writer. She was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for an Variety Series in 1981. O'Hara was named to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
